Review of Stable Management Days
My 8 year old daughter really enjoyed this day at the farm. She has attended Pony days there before but that included a lot of general activities, such as collecting eggs and stroking the rabbits. Although she enjoyed these days, the Stable Management day was much more horse focused, and possibly more age appropriate. She learnt a lot about grooming, feeding and general pony care. Plus, plaiting the pony's forelock and tail was a highlight! She's looking forward to the next day.
Review of Easter Lambing at Whirlow Hall Farm
We were visiting Sheffield (from London) and took our granddaughters to the event. We had a lovely day and thorougly enjoyed the event, but we have the following comments:
1)When we originally looked at the website, it gave the impression that you could only buy tickets through skiddle; there was no mention of paying on the gate. As we had seen the advertising on Tues after the farm had closed, we couldn't phone to find out if we could do this. Also, the website showed "9 hours to go" etc about purchasing tickets which certainly gave the idea that there were limited tickets available.
I now see the website shows tickets avaiable on the gate.
2)It would also be helpful to say which activities incurred an extra charge AND how much on your advertising and pre event website!
3) Some children (aged 7ish) at the 2pm Punch and Judy show were not properly supervised by their adults and spoilt the experience for everyone. They threw stray balloons, grass etc into the P&J "tent". The P&J man even called out for them not to do this, but no-one seemed to be supervising these annoying children. In these days of "safeguarding" , no-one else was going to tell/ask them to move for fear of being reprimanded by their parents!
4) The P&J man also made balloon models, but he needed someone else to help him as it took about 4-5 mins for each model and the queue was very long.

Review of Easter Lambing at Whirlow Hall Farm
Event was fine. Booking via Skiddle an absolute con. Had to pay a booking fee and a so called fast pass fee. The old people on the gate had no idea what to do with phone tickets and just asked the name. People just paying on the gate paid less and got in faster. Recommend anyone to pay on the gate next time. Skiddle a waste of time and cost more than standard entry.
