Review of Ministry of Sound 30th Birthday - Part 1

                Overall rating: 4.5 Verified review

Nice to back at MOS great the lineup was a nice refreshing mix of true Trance with a good smooth transitions and build thought the night. The highlight being a truly refreshing reflection off trance past and present in PVD's set. The box atmosphere greet form open to close, my personal favorite a nice opening hour by Askew.

The club its self has a great setup with light, sound and layout all top draw and the staff helpful and friendly and overall another memorable night of celebration.

Friendly security and bar staff. Very well organised entry and security. Coat check efficient. No cash accepted only contactless throughout the venue. Drinks are reasonable priced and an extensive range. Venue dance floors and toilets are kept tidy with regular cleaning. Plenty of fresh air conditioning in all areas. Outside bar area is a good relaxing experience.
The BOX has one of the best sound systems and superior lighting of any club. Security staff are evident and I felt safe and secure at all times.
For the 30th birthday it would have been nice to receive a souvenir key ring or memento of the night.
The DJ line up was MASSIVE - Paul Van Dyk, John Askew, Simon Patterson and Will Atkinson on The Box main room. Sadly Aly & Fila & Judge Jules we’re not able to attend. We had a FANTASTIC evening.

                Ministry Of Sound venue information

The club comprises five main areas; the Bar, the Baby Box, the VIP and the Loft and the Box, the latter housing the clubs primary sound-system, with a specially-built roof to contain sound and a
sprung floor intended to enable clubbers to dance for many hours without tiring.

Originally conceived with influences from New York's Paradise Garage, Ministry of Sound has had numerous makeovers over the years that have taken it some distance from the original gritty disused bus shelter that boasted flexible plastic doors, no alcohol licence and rooms connected with scaffold walkways. But its beating heart, the Box, remains much the same as it did the day it opened, its focus on sound and production is still at the forefront of the technology of its time.

What has continually set Ministry of Sound apart from other venues, and is the reason that it remains one of the clubbing wonders of the world; is its commitment to sound and production at the forefront of everything they do. Every year, the Ministry of Sound invests thousands of pounds on improving the club, and this year the annual refurb has seen some drastic changes to sound, lights and production, as well as a brand new VIP area!

Today Ministry of Sound remains at the absolute forefront of the global dance scene, with Friday nights playing host to regular night The Gallery who represent leading names in Trance and Saturday nights seeing Ministry of Sound's long-standing Saturday Sessions welcome the World's greatest international DJs each week. DJ's include Andy C, Amine Edge & DANCE, Basement Jaxx, Catz 'N Dogz, Erick Morillo, Gorgon City, Groove Armada, Masters At Work, Maya Jane Coles, MK, Route 94, Secondcity, Skream.
