Review of Witches in the Woods: Immersive Halloween Woodland Cinema
They didn't wait to walk us up to where we would be sat with the other people that were going because our friend was in the loo, they started the movie as we was setting up our seats which I found just rude.

Review of Mary and the Witches Flower- Witches in the Woods event
I am very sad to be writing such a negative review. It’s uncommon for me to do so.
If the event that we went to had been ‘pay what you can’ or a couple of pounds, I might have thought it quite nice. If it had been £10 for a family ticket, I might have thought, we’ll stay for an hour but £34.74! Seriously. For that, I had high expectations.
An adult ticket for the Showrom Cinema is £9. We were 2 x adults, 1 4 year old & a baby.
We arrived at 2.30 because we expected to enjoy some of the other activities, entertainment & atmosphere before the film started at 3. We found ourselves in a very windy barn, filled with trestle tables of crafts (which were quite lovely) but no atmosphere! Everyone was freezing & bumbling about aimlessly.
We tried to do a bit of something but our hands were too cold really. Then we bought some burritos, which were okay & tried to find where the film was showing.
There was no signage at all & nobody seemed to know where we were going. Eventually we located the film & found some bailes of hay to sit on. The barn was FREEZING.
No attempt had been made to make it any more cozy. Not even blankets!
The film encountered some technical difficulties & when it did start, we weren’t aware that it had.
By 2/3 of the way through, there was hardly anyone left in the barn. It was just too uncomfortable.
As I said before, had the event been free or cheap, I’d have walked off & spent some more money at the food stalls but we felt we should stay & watch to get our £34 worth!!!
After 90 mins I had to go for a walk with the baby. There was hardly a sole around. Nothing to do in the other barn & nowhere else to go.
I’m baffled by this event. And very sore at spending so much money on really nothing. It was very badly executed.
I get the cold. I get the farm but I just can’t believe it cost so much for so little.
We always buy our Christmas food from Whirlow Hall. I actually did my work experience at Whirlow hall.
I’m feeling very reticent about coming back.
Review of Mary and the Witches Flower- Witches in the Woods event
Unfortunately for the price the day did disappoint. It was bitterly cold which is obviously out of the hands bit I felt some outdoor heaters could have been purchased for the screening, especially for the price we paid for a family ticket.
These are the issues that hopefully could be easily rectified for next time:
- the event started at 2, the music wasn’t switched on until 2:45
- the craft area had no helpers to aide in making the crafts
- the craft barn was lacking atmosphere - last year there were pumpkins out and straw area for dancing
- film barn, only the 1st couple of rows could see the screen, my 4 & 2 year old couldn’t see from 5 rows back - would have been good to have a kids only area at the front.
- watching the film was freezing, some warning to bring blankets if there was not heated would have been helpful - we ended up leaving early due to these issues .
In a positive the food from the burrito bar was amazing

Not prepared properly and far too cold for adults never mind children! Needed some form of heating and better preparation for such a pricey event. Most people left half way through.

Review of Beer and Bangers Comedy Night
The comedians and host were really good and i would go again. The place is freezing though, couod do with some ourdoor heaters and faster service at the bar and more policing of crowd members who are intoxicated and disturbing the show - people were removed, but not until right at the end

Review of Beer and Bangers Comedy Night
Too cold to stand it. Comedians had very tired dated material. Drink selection poor- could have done with some hot drinks considering it was 4 degrees in venue. Would not recommend or go again. Left early.
