not a bad atmos for what is essentially an overpriced knees up in a tent, with bad music, cheap food and a lack of choice when it came to alcohol. AVOID!

I had a standing ticket for Friday evening session with a group of colleagues. What I paid £11 for I don't know. There was a lack of authenticity to the whole event. The compere bellowing 'who wants to get drunk!?' kind of sums it up. They played the most basic of crowd pleasing music- cheesy 80's, Wonderwall (yawn) Dirty Dancing, Grease etc. Being in the standing area behind the metal dividers meant we were too far from the stage to see what was going on, or be able to join in with the minimal Bavarian themed activities- I think there were several traditional songs but not really sure. Food offerings disappointing- I think there was a hot dog truck offering bratwurst or chips. Rubbish beer choice. Beer tasted very chemically. £10-£12 for a plastic 2 pint cup, extra £5 for a plastic stein. £24 a bottle for cheap and nasty wine. Couldn't buy wine buy the glass, or 1 pint of beer. Bar staff were very miserable- never cracked a smile. Half way through the night we were told the Fels (cheapest beer) was all gone. Turns out they actually couldn't get the pump to work or something? I get the feeling that it would have been a better experience in the seated area. Fair enough having standing only tickets, but why did we pay £11? We got nothing for that, apart from the opportunity to be there. We would have been better off in a local pub in the warm. I won't be going to one of these again. Unfortunately perhaps I misjudged it. I thought it would be more about the culture, food and beer of Bavaria. It was just the opportunity to get pissed and ripped off in a field, then experience a terrible hangover from the cheap chemical filled beer the next day. I feel I lost brain cells by being there. It was only the company I was in that kept me there for 3-4 hours.

Well, although we had a fun evening i have some complaints. DON'T go for standing option, bad choice. unless you like to feel segregated and away from the fun. It felt about as German as going round my nans for a cup of tea and a roast dinner. 80's music isn't really my favourite but thats just me. I would of thought for your £12 you would atleast get a stein or maybe even a hat at a push..... Oh no. If you want a stein they are a fiver and are made of plastic!!!! They ran out of the £10 beer at about 8.30pm so it was £11 or £12 beer option only. Jaeger was a bargain though, only £100 per bottle!! I think if we had opted for seated it would of improved things but i feel they should do away with that and just have a set price for eveyone and just put out a few more tables and take those metal barriers away. As a final note, the barstaff were not the best. No smiles, slow service and general frostiness!

Well, I have been to the Oktoberfest in Munich a few times now and nothing can compare to it. However, this was a really good attempt to mimic the atmosphere of the Real Oktoberfest and I can honestly say it was really good fun. Good beer, good sausages, good music, and great company. Well done.

my group paid for the seating area. their was not enough seats so we had to stand the whole night. their was no signs to direct anybody to the entrance so we walked around trying to find it and we weren't the only ones. no access to the band area. overall very disappointed some of my group left early the food stalls were poor and a lack of choice.

Good to see a local event like this, but beer prices were very high - up to £15 for a stein (actually a plastic 2 pint straight 'glass'). There were only 2 beers on tap, not great. And two food options - a burger van and a bratwurst grill.
The PA was very loud and in the daytime when the event was less full it meant you could hardly hear each other in most parts of the tent.
Good to go, but wouldn't bother doing it another year.

Was an extremely expensive night and felt more entertainment could have been put on. The crowd created the atmosphere not the performers. Staff should have been in costumes. Some German stalls outside would have also been good.
