Review of Love 4 Music Festival 2019
Loved the event. Needs to be advertised locally.
No posters around the area. No Facebook promotions.
Residents did not have the opportunity to purchase additional tickets for £10 as advertised.
Overall, I LOVED THE EVENT, thank you

I don't think the weather helped, I only stayed for an hour and a half it wasn't very busy I felt disappointed for you guys and all that's involved putting such an event together. I hope it picked up after I left.

Felt very let down this year, not organised very well , waited outside for over an hour to get in, the queue for the bar was a joke 30 minutes. Hardly any bands that were advertised turned up , mostly music being played all day . An expensive day for wat we got. Last year was great that’s why we returned, won’t be going next year .

I think the organisers need to make a public apology about this event and some people need to be reimbursed. This event was a budget event at best. Totally false advertisement.
This event was a total farce for a number of reasons:
1, I bought six tickets at £77.00 each totalling £462 on a supposedly early bird offer to find later that If you bought more than 4 tickets you can get a fiver off each ticket.
2, The event was supposed to start at 12:00 but didn’t get in till 1:30……. Reason for the delay there was only one person at the desk scanning in the tickets on her phone! One of the few acts that were there Shola Ama performed to an empty field, because anyone who was there was in the queue.
3. Two of the main acts weren’t on Chaka Demus and the Real Thing no explanation as to why they weren’t on, total lack of respect for the customer!
4. The sound system kept cutting out and the PA tried to fill in the gaps but it was embarrassing.
5. The Inclusive drinks voucher……. now that was a circus! It says on the flyer you can have two drinks which can be doubles but not triples. We queued for 40 mins to be told you can only have two singles, you could not get drinks for your friends which meant you had to take it in turns to go to the bar to stand in the queue now calculate this I had five drinks at 40 mins per drink, which meant I spent 2 hours of the 7.5 of the ‘festival’ in a queue, there were six of us so we didn’t spend much time together because we were in a queue for food or drink. I am sure it said that there were going to be two bars for the all inclusive but no only one and all the other bars were empty.
6. Food were to the value of £4.50 fine but when a tray of frozen chips made with old oil cost £3.00 hardly a bargain the chicken stall was selling a bit of chicken and rice for about £9.50 you still had to pay £5.00 with a voucher.
7. Event finished at 9 not 10. Saying that we were glad because we had enough of being mugged off.
There was plenty of ways that the organisers could have made this right…. They could have explained about the missing acts because they knew because they had time to change the flyers!! They could have opened the other bars to the poor sods like me who paid £77 yes, I know about responsible drinking but surely that’s up to the individual and the bar staff will be able to see who was too drunk to get served.
We got a train from Manchester so all in all it was an expensive day we expected a FESTIVAL instead we got a few bands and a couple of DJ’s who tried there best to keep the party going with defective equipment.
All in all, not good I would say avoid this event at all costs. Moss side Carnival has more to offer and that’s free. Just to let everyone know I will be posting this review everywhere as I feel that we deserve an explanation at the very least. I will be looking at trading standards because we did not get what we paid for. Despite the number of press at the event I have yet to see anything written by them, just there for the freebie and the backstage passes I suppose, but I will be going to the press to save them a job.

Main headliners were not at the event and there was no update on this prior to the event. Poorly organised.
I would not recommend as you pay to see certain artists and all you got was DJ Sets and the music cut out several times.

price of the tickets was fair
price of items of food and drink were expensive. the Caribbean food stall did not display prices and put the prices up when food ticket was presented.
Damage and Shola Ama were very good, but Soul II Soul were a major disappointment.
whilst the DJ's were good there were too many of them on for too long. they needs to be more singing performers.
The late start and poor entrance organisation impacted badly on the day with the staff being unhelpful.
atmosphere was good and we felt safe

I am a local resident & the fiasco to get the free tickets was ridiculous continually having to chase for the code! Assumption that everyone has computer/email. Several of my neig*bours did not in fact get their tickets even after chasing several times. Very disappointed spoilt the whole experience so didn't attend. It certainly seemed as though you were making it as difficult as possible because you didn't in fact want to give out the free tickets.

Disappointed as there were few artists playing compared to last year. Even though there was a separate DJ stage, there were far too many DJ’s playing the main stage. Soul 11 Soul were excellent which made it worthwhile going, and the public created a great atmosphere and seemed to really enjoy it
