Since bursting on the scene in London and Bristol back in the early to late nineties, drum ’n’ bass has been an integral part of the fabric of the UK clubbing scene. With many naysayers prophesying the death of the genre, all predictions have been proved false as drum ‘n’ bass in 2013 is more prevalent than ever.

As industry giants and scene starters prove more difficult to see in their original setting, drum ‘n’ bass tends to see the main players headlining dance stages at huge festivals around the world. Whilst this is all well and good, the true feel of d’n’b needs to be experienced in small intimate venues to truly get the feel of what the music is all about.

It’s this philosophy that Shut That S**t Down has been successfully treating club goers to over the years, as the highly regarded club night regularly welcome the finest in d’n’b to their venue in London’s Rhythm Factory. This weekend’s edition of Shut That S**t Down is gearing up to welcome one of the scene’s most forward thinking pioneers - Grooverider.

Watch: Grooverider - Where's Jack the Ripper

Beginning his career as a DJ at illegal raves and house parties at the back end of the 80’s, later rising to fame with teammate Fabio to run legendary night Rage, Grooverider has been one of the best loved exponents of drum ‘n’ bass, a true hero of the high tempo. His set at this week’s Shut That S**t Down will see him deploying his nearly 30 years of party starting prowess to devastating effect in a venue that genuinely befits the drum ‘n’ bass movement.

He will be joined by the likes of Ray Keith, Doc Scott, EZM, and Mampi Swift.

Room 2 will see the arrival of Subtempo, Mosh, Source, D-Kill, Faze and Durban amongst others.

Shut That S**t Down is an unrivalled opportunity to catch some of the biggest drum n' bass DJs in the world crammed into one small east London venue.

Underground drum ‘n’ bass is certainly alive and well, and it’s never sounded better.
