If you're going to be inspired by one character in dance music you can't do much better than the charismatic Chicagoan Green Velvet. Taking the name from his timeless 2001 classic, new Leeds club night La La Land will be bringing the fiercest house music line ups to a wealth of intriguing and unique locations.
Leeds newest rave builders kick off their campaign on Saturday 12th July at the city's most iconic rave edifice - The Warehouse, using its 'cauldron like dancefloor', intimate second room and of course its notorious Funktion one sound system to great effect.
Outcross label boss Miguel Campell will be smashing the figurative bottle of champagne over the new night, with his distinctly fresh, vibrant house in tow.
His output both on Outcross and most recently Hot Creations have only further cemented his vital status in the modern house movement, as his soulful, funk heavy sound continues to pave the way for a legion of like minded house heads. Check out his appearance at Movement Detroit above to see what we mean (above).
The nascent talents of bass focused tech and house exponent Cera Alba joins Campbell in the main room. The VIVa Music and Hot Creations affiliate has firmly stamped his authority in the scene over the past couple of years, with his irresistible dance floor designs (check out his mix above) hitting all the right notes with the industry's biggest players.
O.C & Verde and RUNIC round off a killer launch party for La La Land. Grab your tickets here.
