Review of The Philosopher\'s Dome

Bought for my 9 year old daughter who is obsessed with Harry potter was not really sure about what to expect but it turned out to really good with lots of props for her to try and have picture with along with meeting some of the actors. However there did just seem to be a lot of stalls with the same merchandise and the aspect of earning points for your chosen house was never actually explained so we didn't do any of that because we weren't told when or where to do it. Otherwise a lovely event that was enjoyed by all!

I paid £36 for a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children), to basically look at market stalls. We arrived early and had to queue for 30 minutes to get in, really slow moving. They're were no activities happening until mid afternoon, couldn't of stayed there for three hours to wait for anything to happen, could've easily seen everything within 1/2hr of arriving, had a coffee and went home, very disappointing.

My son went with my father and they both really enjoyed the event- even though they both have very different knowledge levels of the books and films. The activities that they did they both enjoyed and my son loved meeting the actors and discussing the differences between the films and the books. However there were a few general organisation issues that could be ironed out if the event or similar were to be repeated. The tickets when printed didn't have any times on them so it was difficult to remember which slot we were booked in. No-one explained when they got in that there were some events that needed to be booked on the day and I understand that some exhibitors went home early because no-one booked with them.

Was a great morning out, however I felt the ticket price (which was realistic) was perhaps a bit much considering it was to basically get into a indoor market to spend more money. It was great having the actors there but perhaps a few more interactive stuff for adults to make it a bit more 'worth the ticket price' Overall I really enjoyed it

Unfortunately this was more like a market, with very little interactive stuff for the kids. The review reflects this.

As a first time visitor to Unicon I was pleasantly surprised, it was a fun afternoon out. The sellers and special guests were very friendly. I will definitely be coming again. It was fun seeing people in costumes. I felt very welcome, even though I was under-dressed at such an event!

The event was brilliant. I was impressed by the different stalls, guests and things to look at. The costumes were great as well, especially Deadpool! The only downside was the very limited choice of food - burger, hot dog or nachos - and all overpriced. However I believe that had more to do with The Dome (venue) than the organisers of the event. All in all we had a great day and my 5 year old loved it.

Brilliant day. Only moan I had was the venue was so hot with little ventilation but cannot be in control of everything just felt sorry for the people in costume but other than that it was awesome. So much care and effort taken with every aspect. Well done

Hi the event was good. The building was ok for the size of the event. The only thing I would criticise was that it took a little while to get in because there was only one person checking tick*ts.

Sadly I couldn't attend the first Unicon in 2015, and apparently it was much better than this one because it actually had a lot of decent anime merch! However that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it, after all I got an AMAZING Totoro purse so it was pretty worthwhile.
Hoping to attend the Harry Potter-themed event next year too!

Really wanted to support a local comic con but didn't stay long, a 'zombie' who didn't seem to understand the concept of personal space annoyed me, I didn't see any of the guests and most of the dealers would have been more at home at an arts and crafts fair. On the whole, a bit disappointing.
