This gig was a MESS. Technical problems from the start, an MC who didn't know what he was doing, singers blatantly using a folder on the stage to look at the lyrics and some muppet singer who ripped Born Slippy to shreds. There was little or no security entering the venue other than a cursory look in handbags. No airport style screening unlike other venues. No security down at the front near the stage although it was very much required. the other side of the barrier was reserved for "VIP's" who got in front of people trying to see the set alternating between filming the stage and filming the crowd up close despite people NOT wanting to be filmed. Waste of money, disgrace to the gatecrasher brand. Wont be back.

First the tickets, I purchased 4 standing tickets not long after they went on sale at nearly £50 each, then to be messaged a few weeks before the event to say thickets were available at £25 each. This was totally unfair. 😡 The queue at the bar was ridiculous. There were simply not enough staff and the ones that were there were not quick enough.
Now for the event. A big let down!!! Firstly, Paul Oakenfold had several problems with the equipment which should have been tested beforehand. When the Classical bit started the levels were wrong, the choir and the orchestra were too quiet and some of he vocal mics did not work and had to be changed. Again, these should have been checked beforehand. As for the what was billed as the 'best light and laser show' was a lie. No lasers whatsoever!!!! On to the artists, one was reading words from a piece of paper and Maxi Jazz who the advertising said would be singing several Faithless tracks only sang a couple of songs so can hardly be billed as the headline artist! This should have been s truly awesome gig but All in all this event was a big let down. !!!!
Only a refund of some kind will at least partially restore some kind of faith in Gatecrasher!!!

Amazing night!! the atmosphere was fantastic and a great line up of new songs. To have Paul Oakenfold opening the event for the first hour got the crowd going mad!! Also, where we were sat we could see everyone with VIP status and there were a lot of famous dj's at this event from the dance music scene over the last 25 years who we saw that made it even more amazing and most people didn't even know they were there. Well done to everyone who pulled this together. Peyton singing the Power of Love said it all about what music should be about.

Amazing gig especially the warmup act. I did think the headliner could have done more than 2 songs. Liked the reminder from skiddle on the day about the venue information.

sound was hit and miss could not hear the singers or the host if you can call some bloke walking across the stage a host whole thing seemed rushed and out of sync
lighting was not as advertised no lasers which may have contributed to the atmosphere
considering it was gatecrashers 25 birthday I think its died ! choice of music awful not loud enough
1000s of iconic tunes only a handful played
audience were standing looking confused as to when it was going to get going sadly it never did
what a disappointment I went to celebrate being cancer clear after 5 years music kept me going during one of the most stressful and worrying times in my life but I left thinking what an awful show and waste of money ! 2 days holiday from work ! waste of petrol !

I went to the city hall to watch this it was amazing however at the arena you couldn’t hear the orchestra atmosphere not great very disappointed

Been waiting for this event for a long time. Gutted that there was technical faults with sound and no lasers. Couldn’t hear the choir or the orchestra over the backing music. And the main headliner Maxi Jazz did only 2 songs. I think we should be offered our money back or tickets for the next one. I can Fromm nottinham to see this and paid for a hotel as well. Big disappointment

I rarely complain about any live entertainment but this warrants it. The overall experience was pretty poor. On arrival we were told by a steward that our seats had been taken and to find somewhere else to sit. The performance of DJ Paul Oakenfold was the dim highlight given the poor acoustics of the live orchestra and the weak vocals provided by the range of singers and choristers. The singers looked awkward, uncomfortable and unprofessional. Friends who joined us left at 9pm bitterly disappointed. We decided to be a little more patient but alas gave up the ghost at 10:30 feeling that it would be better to collect our car from a very expensive car park (£10) and exit early rather than endure traffic congestion and further miserable performances. Learning that people had paid £25 to enter the venue and then move freely to the Golden Circle to sit in £60 seats was the black icing on the proverbial cake! Such a shame given that my girlfriend and I were hoping to celebrate 25 years of a super club which we had attended so regularly driving to and from Sheffield from Derby since 1993. Not the best legacy, indeed never again!

Wrong venue,couldn’t hear the orchestra, drinks were pricey, was a bit of a let down for saying it was the 25 year anniversary, not a patch on Sheffield Hall in feb, so was a little disappointed

Broken hearted to have to say it was an omnishambles all round, poor / problematic sound , few lasers -apparently problems with them too, singers off key or forgot their words, and no atmosphere. Also, importantly no golden ticket fast-track entrance, nor anything else special for the extra money spent come to that, the bars were overpriced and overcrowded.....such a shame as last years GC24 @ City hall, was totally awesome , VIP package had a true value, and show had no issues, that’s why we all wanted to come back for more. But now all credibility lost😢

Event was promoted to be the best laser lights that GC had ever done. Absolutely no lasers used in the concert. Sound seemed to be delayed. Paul Oakenfold was brilliant, but he seemed to be struggling with the sound and power to the DJ decks. Previous events at Sheffield City Hall where much better.
