Review of North East Chilli Fest 5th birthday & Delaval Hall Leaving Party
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, despite the rain. I hope no one gives a bad review because of the weather, because that is beyond control. We had a great time.

A bit of a wash out, weather let it down, tents were packed at times and bit of a wait for drinks which was expected due to the rain. Venue great as usual but stall holders charge way over the odds.

Review of North East Chilli Festival Sat 4th & Sunday 5th July
Over priced admission to what is essentially a food market, long queues for both the bar and food outlets and a shambles of entertainment. What we hoped would be a good day out was in fact a 50 minute amble around a field...

Review of North East Chilli Festival Sat 4th & Sunday 5th July
For those of you who have not yet been to the Chilli Festival then shame on you and for those who have then keep the support going.
Set in the magnificent grounds of Deleval Hall this is a chance not only to relax in great surroundings but also to indulge in some wonderful food and drink from around the world and NO not everything is sceamingly chilli hot.
For those not into chilli's (You foolish people) then the festival food and drink side offers a multitude of tasty dishes to cater to the most mild mannered palate whilst for those with more adventures taste buds then the world is your lobster with dishes from Hmm to AHHH!
As for the produce stalls who needs lunch when so many wonderful samples are on offer?
With a multitude of of sauces relishes marinades and dips ranging from mild to madness along with a selection for those with a sweet tooth then everyone is catered for at the North East Chilli festival.
My hopes for next year?
More produce and food stalls and that I remember to bring a blanket and chairs so the whole family can spend even more time at one of my favourite days out.

Review of North East Chilli Festival Sat 4th & Sunday 5th July
We was extremely disappointed, we expected there to be Chilli cooking competitions, Chilli Tastings and cooking demonstrations, instead there were various food franchises only non of which sold Chilli apart from if you wanted it with a hotdog, there were various stalls selling Chilli based products but none of which that couldn't have been brought from specialist stores or garden centres, Sadly to say my friend and I both agreed that we would not be rushing back.

My family and I had a great day. A great venue, not too big or too small. Atmosphere was great, especially once the sun came out! A good array of food stalls kept us well fed too. Will definitely come next time, but I think we'll bring some comfy camping chairs. :)

We love the event & have been every year. The worst bit is having to que for so long for drinks & food, then find out they have run out of everything & have to wait for more supplies
