Summer Sound

Good event but very poorly organised, long queues for drinks (catering company were told only 1000 people would be attending), missed the first two acts due to the alcohol problem with queuing and then going home once we found we could BYOB.

The entertainment was really good though and the fireworks added to the effect too. However though the venue wasn't the best of choices due to the queues, only one ride for the "funfair" and prices for alcohol when we did get served were stupidly high. Plus the racecourse has massive amounts of space it could use yet we were only confined to such a small area of it.

I would go again if summersound is on next year but only if its at a different venue, prices for alcohol are reasonable and I hope that there is better communication between the organisers and those involved next time.

Overall a great night was had, I really enjoyed the day. The bar was terrible and wasn't resolved quick enough and when the issue was addressed by the event it was to label the audience 'greedy' so I apologise Redcar racecourse for being so 'greedy' and getting a second pint which I had queued 1 hour to get! That said I did enjoy myself once I had gone home to get drinks to bring in.

One word - Bad!
Overpriced drinks, £4 for a can of lager / £2 for a bottle of pop. Crazy queues for the bar, no beer tents or anything, so queues in excess of an hour at some points. The "fun fair" was 1 little ride, the stage was tiny, the only thing that made the event good, was the people I went with. They ran out of most drinks and allowed people to go out and buy their own drinks! Won't be attending if they do it again! £20 for tickets, really was too much for the event they put on.

Redcar Summer Sound

Pretty shoddy. Mile long queues for the bar, ludicrous prices (£4 for a can of cider), a "funfair" that consisted of one ride, heavy police presence at the end. The music was decent and the atmosphere was eventually good once the bringing in of booze was allowed.
