Paying with tokens was a bad idea, the bar ran out of mixers & wouldn’t give a refund for all our tokens we had purchased.
Music was good. There was no air con in the venue & no terrace to sit out, people where stood outside in the smoking area, no atmosphere inside.

Wasnt really a gin festival, just overprice bars slinging out bad gins. Venue reminded me of a school hall and it was really overpriced.

Bad venue. No ventilation. No where near enough tables to sit at or tall tables to put your drink on. Not enough toilets. No food stands that I could see which was ridiculous considering doors opened at 2pm and closed at 11pm, after 6pm if you left the venue then you wouldn’t be allowed back in so food after 6pm wasn’t an option unless you left and didn’t come back. I think most people did as the event was quite empty. You had to buy tokens from a kiosk and use them at the bar, 1 token = £2, I appreciate the reason for tokens due to money handling etc but the minimum you could buy was £10 worth, any tokens unused where none refundable. The bar ran out of certain drinks quite early on limiting what you could drink. The only upside to the whole event was the the DJs where fantastic but everything else was abysmal. A really really poor run event, for £20 a ticket I really expected more. We were so disappointed and let down by the event we left. A lot needs to be learned from this by the organisers if another event like this is arranged.

Review of Gin & Disco - Liverpool

I have attended several Skiddle Gin Festivals at Croxteth Park and Aigburth and always thoroughly enjoyed events. This event was awful - I was given warm gin and tonic in plastic b**ker with no ice on arrival (at previous events I have always been given a glass on arrival which you kept for event and took home). Event was hot and stuffy with no air conditioning it was unbearable and when purchasing drinks still no ice. How can this happen!
I would certain not recommend this event to anyone and was disappointed as I bought my friend a ticket as birthday present and was very embarrased and left after 1 hr 30 mins. I cannot believe gin festival with no ice!!!! Very disappointed and purchased three tickets!!!! I will not attend again :(

Not impressed by the inflexible token system - I ended up there on my own but am on a lot of strong painkillers so can’t drink alcohol so didn’t really need to spend £10 at the bar which, by the way, had run out of an incredible amount of stuff by the half way point so cranberry was only juice on offer; there was no lemonade etc. It seemed some of the alcohol had also run out.

Great venue but only 3 men's toilets for a venue this size. Quite expensive drinks. Really enjoyed Greg Wilson but Melvo Babtiste was not my cup of tea. Shame that we had to get off before Derek Kaye and Todd Terry. I imagine the rest of the night was very good as long as you didn't need the toilet ;-)

We pre-booked tickets for the Liverpool event it was not worth £24. We planned a hen party on a very tight budget and this was the main activity for the weekend.

Although the event description was very limited we assumed it was be a really fun well organised event for the money.

This promo video is pretty deceiving. We got to the venue and it looked like a village hall, no air conditioning and boiling, a DJ at the the front. Honestly like a primary school disco. There was not even any decorations and the music and sound quality was awful.

They gave us each a voucher for a free drink which was was the cheapest gin in a plastic cup with no lemon or ice and after that drinks were £5-8 each. I just can't believe that you can justify this entry fee.

We left straight away and the manager Ed Davis said to contact Skiddle directly and you would definitely give us a refund.

V.disappointed with what was meant to be the highlight of our weekend.

Not enough seating, too hot inside, not a gin festival as such as only two little stalls for actual gin and a generic bar. Token system for drinks didnt work well as half tokens had to be used which made storage a nightmare

The whole event was well organised however as stated online no entry after 5pm so mad rush to get there to find people leaving handing their free raffle tickets back to other people so they could get a free gin. On arrival I didn’t really want to be drawn on with a perm marker but was insisted it was necessary in case I needed to leave!!!! Warm plastic cups with a gin and a lovely warm mixer thrown in!...no ice no fridges. When I asked for ice I was told we have none ok....

Gin bars...if that’s what you can call them sadly same gin at all the bars. Huge queues and people just walking to the front and getting served. The staff were rushed off their feet and there was not enough help for them.

Far too warm in the venue with a fabulous glass roof which just projected even more heat. Not many “disco” tunes heard although music was good. Toilets were disgusting and that was at 6pm!!!!! No toilet roll in any cubicles and condensation just dripping from everywhere.

Not a good review because I didn’t have a good experience. Didn’t feel that I should have been called a gin disco it was a recreation of a “ rave” with a few gins!! Won’t be returning to one of these events .......there were so many people who said the same it wasn’t what it was advertised as and feel that the atmosphere was built up to be something NOT to be missed and hurry up and get there.....yes to have to pay for a gin and then extra for a mixer when all the other amazing gin festivals I have been too you can have whatever mixer to

Beautiful surroundings. However this festival didn’t have a distinctive personality, it was neither a gin festival or a disco festival. The gin ran out early, and there were limited garnishes. Disappointing. Look to the gin festival arranged in the Catholic Cathedral for how to run a gin festival!!

This was advertised as a 70s disco and it really wasn't as the music was 90s at best
Ran out of lemonade and not much of a selection of gin.
Wouldn't go again

Drinks were ridiculously expensive £5-£7 for basic drinks in a plastic cup. Music was rubbish the same beat for hours. No where to
Get food. No toilet roll in
The toilets and 2 of them had no toilet seat. The heat was unbearable it was nearly 30
Degrees in Liverpool and there wasn’t any open windows or air con etc due to the venue. Do not know how this cost £25 to get in! Never again

It was more of a rave than disco. I’d been recommended to go to this event by family but they must have been to one that was ran by another events company! A little disappointing after coming over from the IOM for it.

Music was great. Unfortunately though the hot weather and the rule 5pm entry rule made it difficult to stay there very long. We would have stayed longer if we could have gone in later. The atmosphere was a bit pants due to it thinning out so early on. The idea was good but the venue wasn’t the best.
