Review of Mint Festival 2018
I started the day still drunk from going out until 8am the night before and after four hours kip and walking up to the wrong busses in Leeds city centre asking “are you for MiNT Fest?”, I finally found the massive queue for the busses near MiNT Warehouse (I bet loads of people couldn’t find it at all and ended up not going).
It was very disheartening to see the busses slowly roll in one after the other, few and far between. Given that you can only get about 75 people on a bus and the festival capacity was several (10?) thousand it seemed very ridiculous right from the start. It was also rather worrying when we went past a burning double decker bus on the way there. Finally, when we got there, it seemed well managed, even though I got ID’d and I’m 40 in two months! Lol. got in quite easily but it took a bit of brain power to figure out how to get money for drinks - £20 for a bottle of 10.5% 75cl white wine seemed the best deal. (£5 for a can of San Miguel)
Went straight to Derrick Carter, he was playing Disco rather than House which was quite a let down but after a few swigs of wine I got more into it. Then off to Area 51, which was really impressive, massive old skool rave kinda hanger. Lucky it didn’t rain as there were a lot of outdoor arenas.
I was the one with the glasses in Woodstock to the right wearing the leather jacket and throwing the plastic balls at the back of people’s heads - one of the better attributes of the day (Snapchat: LeedsSnapper)
The best DJ was Kerri Chandler, the only DJ to play lively House music, the others were quite monotonous and overly deep/minimal at times
Saw Adam Bayer who played a really banging techno set, which on the massive system, sounded truly epic
Got talking to a guy right at the end who was freezing even tho he was wearing a coat and then a girl came over and said she had two wrist bands for the after party at MiNT Warehouse for £20 each. I bought two for £40 the she ran off and vanished, and it turned out they were only shuttle bus wristbands lol scammed... me and the guy found a way of quickly getting on the bus home, which was good, but he had to somehow get to Bournemouth... I got into Leeds and ended up just going home to rest my more than weary head - maybe never doing that again...?

Review of Mint Festival 2018
Paid for a shuttle bus, to queue for 40 mins to get on it, then it got lost, it took 90 mins to get from Leeds to the RAF ground. It’s a cashless, cardless event. So to use the bar or food places you have to use the wrist band top up service but charge you £1.50 to activate it. I followed the info on the website and when asked where I could get cash back for my taxi from the city to my hotel no one knew what I was on about. I couldn’t even show them the website because there was no service. When the festival ended we were forced to wait in a massive queue for a long time. It was that cold waiting my friends lips went blue. The festival finished at 11 and we didn’t get back in to Leeds till 2 because of the appalling shuttle service. Yet again Mint fest was poorly organised and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone again.

Line up was great and the venue was alright only one indoor stage even though it was freezing but it was good. Only problem was the prices were so expensive and there was no tap to refill water kept having to spend £2.75 on bottles
