The gig was great but Skiddle sucks. Apart from your fee being somewhat over the odds for a DIY event , you also charged an additional 'handling' fee of 50p. This, i was informed when i bought the tickets, was for a 'scanned' event .... i have never been to Chunk before but i was more than confident that they did not posess a scanner.... and when i asked the girl on the door about this, she just giggled "hah!, are you kidding?".
I trust that you will pass - on the extra revenue raised from the punters to the promoters. The promoters in this instance aren't corporate money-grubbing scumbags but genuine supporters of underground music who will be lucky to break-even.
As a promoter myself, the agents i use only charge a straight 10% and send me a pdf of the ticket buyers just prior to the event which i pick up on my phone (just as it was at Chunk). They certainly don't add-on any ficticious and euphemistically-phrased excuses to rip-off the punter. .. just be honest with the punters and promoters..."we charge 17.5%", simple. ...
I noticed, and i only possess average intelligence, what about the rest of the attendees, the venue and the artists.... they might also notice ...and ... voice their concerns on social media.
Review of Renegades of Chunk II
Great all dayer to raise funds for this fine rehearsal studio/ music venue. As usual an eclectic mix of new and established bands. Lovely foid from the Real Junk Food Project too.! Couldn't stay till the end sadly as it clashed with a Brudenell gig but highlights included NANNA - a new band to watch out for, Rapid Tan , Ecate Girl Sweat with the full band line up l, Ecate and Living Body. Chunk may be a little way out iof the town centre but it's always well worth the trip Support it!!!
