Review of Vintage Presents Soul All Dayer curated by Richard Searling
Well, what can I say Mmmmm! After purchasing 2×tickets at a cost of, what ended up being "a few spasms short of £25.00" we didn't get to Morcambe, we didn't attend the Vintage Soul all dayer,neither did we know of or,to be honestly frank, we didn't see, find (after much searching) or HEAR of any of our "heavily committed, dedicated,passionately soulful followers of all that is SOUL MUSIC weekend venue attending Circle of Friends" Who were going or had any idea that this event was ACTUALLY HAPPENING. Which did throw up a bit of an "alarm bells ringing moment"........ Considering who,what,where and when was involved with the this event, was rather concerning. Ontop of which, we had no transport of our own,so, enquiries made via British Rail were activated and soon forgotten. Why? well. For one, the cost of £36pr person from Manchester-Morcambe for Two, the time of travelling which involved having to make a change over half way through and for Three, The Day & Timing of this (what I'm sure is/was & could be a STORMING EVENT, was just so damned inconvenient. For example, its down for a Sunday, Beginning of September(kids just back at at school) , Working week ahead for most the next day, plus, So many other,local, events on the night before and on the Same day (Sunday) that it's going to prevent many,who would, otherwise, attend, not attend or show any interest in this event. So, given all of the above facts, of which are all valid and relivent, we didn't get there. Was so looking forward to it, but it all fell apart due to the Busy and more convenient social calendar of SOUL EVENTS that wknd.
