Review of Driftwood Monday 11th
On the very-positive note: The event turned out to be great, with sensational music! Gabriel and Dresden were amazing as always, playing their classics, taking me on a trip down memory lane! As too was Solarstone, and Sam Mitcham's performances.
Even though, music is the major component of the occasion, which again was awesome in this event; There were a few hiccups prior to the start of the event which suggests improvements for future events in order to experience an extraordinary time from beginning to end.
First: When arriving at Itaca Bar (the pre-boarding meeting spot), an hour prior to the event's start time (15:00-21:00 listed on the flyer), there were no sings/flyers or indications inside the venue about the Driftwood boat party event. Restaurant/bar staff did not know of the event either. Not being a local of Ibiza and travelled from far for this event, I felt somewhat lost because no one knew (restaurant staff) about it, and unfortunately there was no Wifi available at the time in order to search for any updates about the event via the Skiddle App or website. It was not until 30-45 minutes later that folks wearing Solarstone logo t-shirts came into the bar, and then I asked one of them if they were here for the boat party, then responded yes-assuring that I was in the right spot. So please, ask the event organizers to post and hang a flyer of the event in the meeting location or to inform the venue's staff of the event so attendees like myself know they're in the right place upon arriving to the venue.
Another suggestion for an accommodating and hassle-free experience is the accessibility of using a credit card at the bar inside the boat to purchase drinks. The bar took cash only, and this can be annoying since not to many people like to carry cash on them, especially on a boat that is constantly moving and winds can be unpredictable and stuff moves or flies around. If the boat doesn't have a credit card machine then advertise the fact that it is a Cash ONLY venue, and one can bring enough cash or coins!
Overall the event was AMAZING and can't wait for the next one!
