Review of The Anchoress & Guests

The Anchoress were Amazing! Wrong venue for her but her music, style, wit & charm was all apparent and she delivered. The 2nd support act 'Ovvls' we're very interesting and brought a spooky atmosphere to the night, great stuff! Unfortunately I didn't see the first act. My only criticism was the venue, feels dirty, unclean (toilets), needs a makeover! The sound is good except for some ladies who didn't have the respect to quieted down a bit when performer is on stage. It also didn't feel like part of the festival Chester Live,, only a banner on stage told you that. Other than HMV's wall and Facebook & skiffle posts I didn't really see much advertising for this whole event. I'm glad we have the Live rooms but they could do SO much more with it!

Fabulous bunch of musicians. Loved them. Would definitely see them again.
Your staff were friendly and the atmospher was great, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Shame the gig hadn't taken into account the trains and we had to leave before the end to catch the last train out of Chester. I'm sure the last ten minutes were awesome!

Amazing band, can't wait to see them again.
Drinks prices are a little steep and the venue is shabby, toilets were dirty. I'd recommend seeing the band but would think twice about the venue
