Had an amazing day at the festival. Everything was so well thought out, with activities for the kids, fantastic food, Dj's were great. House Gospel choir were outstanding as were all the bands. Would highly rate this festival and although is aimed at mainly younger ones there is definitely fun for all ages as my 10 year old daughter said - she didn't want the day to end.

This event was fun but it would probably be improved if there were more activities and workshops for older children. I would recommend this event to families with children under 10. For this reason I would not go to this event again as my children are 10 & 14

We had a fantastic day, the festival lived up to everything I was hoping for. Perfect family day out with lots to do, relaxed atmosphere & a good variety of continual entertainment & things to do. I wanted to do it again the very next day & I can't wait for next year!

Thought it was quite expensive when buying the tickets, but had such a good time, it was worth every penny! The amazing weather helped (maybe a little too hot!?!?) Daughter did absolutely all of the kids activities and loved them all! Great music, great venue, really lovely friendly family atmosphere. Will definitely come next year. Daughter absolutely loved the 'Supa Afro hero' cape, which she wore with pride, bit difficult getting it off her for school this morning though!!

Lovely atmosphere, great music and feel good factor!
Mainly a family day with lots of children 👶🏻 although I was with two girl friends we still enjoyed the afternoon.
Didn't manage to get the cheaper tickets and thought £30 each a bit much. Next year I will get them earlier early bird rate!

Beach tent was great. Goldie wasn't such a success. Norman Jay should play later I think.

This Was my 4th year going. I live local to the event (on park view road) and I love that it's on my doorstep. I would stress that I have never been troubled by the event or logistics in running it. I think it's fab and hope it continues to grow.
When the music was on this year it was fab but when it wasn't I though that it was unclear when next act would be on. More comparing between acts might be good.
I note the ticket prices rise which is to be expected as the festival grows but I didn't notice any difference from last year to this in terms of getting more for paying more. I brought out of town visitors who, having heard the ticket was £20 for adult and £10 for kids, expected more freebies once at the event. A drinks token? A free something something...?
The story telling tent was Fab!! My 3 yr old and friends 7yr old loved it, as did I!
Keep it up Funk team. Bigger and better next year!

It was rip off for the value !

We had a fantastic time at the event. We could have done with a bit more shade as it was an incredible hot day but we managed ok. The food and activities were excellent (my children are 3 and 4 years old)

I would have liked to have seen a wider range of live music.

Really enjoyable, but tickets were really expensive, especially given how much everything inside cost. I would go again if entry was much cheaper, but could not recommend it at this price.

Some of the music was good and I enjoyed that but overall a rip off at £30 a ticket! Especially as you suddenly re-released the 'early bird' tickets again the day before!!

Great event but far too expensive for family day out

My 5 year old said "This was the best day of my life, so far"! She loved the craft area, lucky dip, chillout teepee, disco tent, circus equipment - especially the abundance of hula hoops.

We also enjoyed the beatboxing workshop, and watching the street theatre. The fencing workshop was really well run, as was the brilliant graffiti-on-a-record activity.

It never got really busy which was good for us but I hope they made enough to keep this lovely festival going. Because we will definitely be back next year.

The only downside is it's a bit of a walk from the nearest bus stop.
