De:Bug’s charm has been in developing a very specific vision of the underground in Sheffield, and that shows no signs of relenting with their November showcase. They’ve already reverberated to the sounds of two of the three lynchpins of 2013’s DJ dream team Apollonia, so following on from Dyed Soundorom and Dan Ghenacia will be Shonky to headline a very Gallic showcase at the Fez Club on Saturday 30th November.

Abandoning his studies in Maths to focus on house and techno, Shonky’s first forages into productions was behind a series of sleek minimal records, the angular rhythms harking back to an academic tutelage reared on Algebra and functionality. It was when his later grooves started injecting a warmth and classic house texture where they really took off, 'Cluborama' (above) being a perfect example of the sudden emotion being injected into a producer who had become synonymous with the sinister chunkiness of minimal at its peak.

Since then he's not looked back, becoming a connoisseur of the full spectrum of house music and fitting like a glove into the Apollonia set-up/ The event will also showcase the talent agency Lola Ed, committed to furthering the interests of French dance music and with a roster that represents French music in all its Gallic glory. Djebali also reps for the agency, the Parisian club kid done good bringing his wild grooves alongside De:Bug's brand new resident Timmy P.
