Mixmag Live brings Robert Hood aka Floorplan to Village Underground

Acclaimed producer Robert Hood and his daughter Lyric will take over London's Village Underground on Thursday 14th July with their Floorplan project. 

Hood is one of the founding members of the seminal group Underground Resistance along with Jeff Mills and Mike Banks. Together they set the blueprint for Detroit techno, drawing parallels with the music and social, political and economic change. 

Robert Hood helped define a minimalistic sound which shaped the club scene in the late 90s, emphasising soul and experimentation over the materialistic and popular. 

The producer has released material under his Monobox, The Vision and Floorplan monikers since the 90s, the latter of which he reviving back in 2010. Now Floorplan, the alias which flaunted his funkier, gospel tinged dance music is a duo featuring his daughter Lyric Hood.

Lyric has been DJing with Robert and has co-produced some of the tracks on Floorplan's second LP titled Victorious, which follows on from 2013's Paradise.
