We broke the news to you lovely Skiddle readers recently about a rather special event taking place in Manchester next Saturday, when infamous events team Secret Party Project bring the Movida Corona DJ competition and John Dahlback to the stunning surroundings of the Monastery in Manchester. Essentially this is a huge dance music party in the second biggest church building in the country – how often do you get to hear DJs perform in venues of this undoubted extravagance?

At the heart of it all though is the surge for the next big thing in dance music, with the Movida Coronoa International DJ contest. A cross continent mine for the best in DJ and electronic music vocalist talent, the competition starts off with regional heats across the planet before selecting national winners, providing new talent with the perfect platform to launch their career as an established international superstar of electronic music.

The DJ who rises to the top will win a life-changing collection of prizes, including sets at some of the biggest clubs in the Europe as part of the Movida Corona 2014 Tour. Additionally, they get a full  four live sessions at Pacha Ibiza next Summer and the chance to participate in the compilation of three albums with Pacha Recordings; an unreal opportunity for any budding entrant. The runners up prizes aren’t to be sniffed at either – two expenses paid trips to perform at the Ultra music Festival in Miami next March.

Understandably such an incredible prize has resulted in some stellar entries, and consequently the talent on offer itself is an incredible draw alone for the contest. The fact that it will be encased in such salubrious surroundings, with John Dahlback repping the pedigree of what these DJs have the chance to become, and you’re looking at an unreal showcase.
