Detonate's 16th Birthday with Roni Size

One of the most respected underground clubbing brands in the Midlands turns 16 on February 27th. We look at how Detonate will be celebrating.

Having kicked off way back in 1999, Detonate has grown in size and stature to become one of the biggest rave empires in the Midlands. Ahead of the return of Detonate Festival at the beginning of summer, Detonate have their 16th birthday party at resident hotspot Stealth on February 27th, and as you'd expect, the line up is looking pretty tasty.

Drum&bass icon Roni Size heads the line up with a spectacular DJ set spanning the past 18 years of the genre. Expect to hear the master junglist throw down a mesh of classic jungle breaks, ultra modern d&b and everything in between as he cranks up the pressure to breaking point, just as he did in his set at the Drum&Bass Awards above.

This time out, Dynamite MC will be joining him to add a slab of vocal hype, primed to get things really fizzing.

He'll be joined by American hip hop producer Just Blaze (see him in action with Gaslamp Killer above).

Famed for his dab hand in the studio, utilised by the likes of The Beastie Boys, Usher, Kanye West, Memphis Bleek and DMX to name a few, Just Blaze also happens to be a killer DJ that can tear through the finest in hip hop, trap and much more, taking no prisoners along the way.
