Date published: 5th May 2016
Just short of 20 years ago DJ Shadow gifted the world with one of the best instrumental hip hop albums of all time, Endtroducing, which alongside his well documented skill as a turntablist placed the Californian into the consciousness of millions around the globe.
It's always an event when there's new Shadow material, so the arrival of the video to the first track from his forthcoming album The Mountain Will Fall has us more than hyped - watch it below.
The sweeping, galactic chords with LA beats percussion, warbling synths and and splashes of trap edits are perfectly mirrored in the astronauts space-bound plight. The track itself marks brave new territory for the producer that's only heightened our anticipation for the imminent longplayer - his first since 2011.
