Camp Bestival announce Max Romeo

Earlier in the year Kingston’s reggae group Toots & the Maytals announced that they would be cancelling all their shows, which left a reggae sized hole in the Camp Bestival line-up. The hole may have taken some plugging, but after a summer of toil Rob da Bank has managed to do just that by installing equally as revered rasta troubadour Max Romeo in their place.

Perhaps most famous for his track ‘Chase the Devil’, sampled by a young Liam Howlett as the centrepiece of The Prodigy’s incendiary ‘Out of Space’, Romeo’s back catalogue also includes the seminal album War ina Babylon, and singles such as One Step Forward, War Ina Babylon, Uptown Babies and Let The Power Fall.

They’ve also released the full details of the stage by stage splits as well, with a downloadable PDF available if you click here. With fractionally over a week to go until the festival starts, those of you heading down there best start planning your idea of who to go and see now.
