Armand Van Helden will become Defected's 27th House Master next month. The Boston DJ will showcase his attributes as a producer and a remixer for the compilation which spans his career right back to the 1994 remix of Kim English's 'Nite Life'. (listen below)
The album will be released on 2nd September and the label's head honcho Simon Dunmore had this to say about the importance of Van Helden's records:
“It’s a real privilege for us to promote music from back in the day and all the great records Armand Van Helden has made, to a new audience and to the older audience, because sometimes they need to be reminded of how great those records are.”
Naturally the album also includes AVH's more recent work with Dizzee Rascal on 'Bonkers' as well as 'aNYway' and 'Barbara Streisand', which were released under his Duck Sauce moniker with A-Trak.
