Review of The Shoreditch Inn

Overall rating: 3.5

We found the hotel easily from Liverpool Street u/g. The decor of the hotel is good....very new and modern. However, it did have the feel of being not quite finished with unhinged doors in the stairway, towel ring not fixed to wall, no hooks in bathroom etc. We had booked a twin room which, when we arrived about 4.00, was not ready as "there was a problem with the curtains". The two girls on reception were very nice and gave us coffee while we waited but after a while, we were asked if we would mind a room one floor up as they were struggling to fix whatever the problem was. We agreed as no problem to us which floor but this turned out to be a double bedded room with an uncomfortable bed so we didn't have a good night's sleep. We should have complained at the time but we had been waiting a while and needed to be somewhere so thought we would put up with it as only for one night. Girls on reception hadn't said wasn't what we had booked which was a bit out of order. Day girls very pleasant but no good evening / good morning from night porter! Breakfast continental type and OK apart from being 'watched over' by staff member which was a bit uncomfortable. Thought cost good value for London. Not sure if would use again but certainly not crossed off our list. Would recommend just on value and cleanliness.

Review of The Shoreditch Inn

There is no parking facilities and hotel is down a narrow road with double yellow lines. When being dropped off with luggage it caused a problem of holding up other vehicles trying to get past. The lift was under construction and was not able to use only apart from putting out luggage in it. My mother is disabled and we had to climb the steep staircase to the second floor. The dining area is extremely tiny and is in the basement. It was very dark with no windows and could only fit 3 tables in it so it was a tight squeeze when other guests were having breakfast, you couldn't move. Not much choice for breakfast either.

Bedroom was very clean and modern, however you could not get any sleep due to the noise of people on the streets and heavy traffic.

Staff polite.

I would not recommend or use this hotel again.
