Review of Punk in Drublic XVIII at Lock 91
Another wonderful night of poetry-slash-comedy at Punk in Drublic. Always a brilliant, hilarious and thought-provoking night, with excellent compere, good beer, and lovely atmosphere. And all for a good cause. Perfect!

Review of Life Cycles, The Cabaret
you could see the immense talent coming through the songs, the structure, everything but it was just very raw, I think you needed to have seats to be able to have that cabaret vibe properly and improve experience, there was no prewarning about standing for the entire show and some people left before the first half was over because there was no way they could see since the stage wasn't raised enough for anyone to really see properly. I think it would have been fine if it was concert vibes which I think the organisers are a lot more used to but for something that requires you to not only be able to hear the music but also see the performances to get the whole picture, it fell flat. I'm looking forward to the musical because I'm sure they will not make the same mistakes again. for a first ever performance from a group I think it was good.

Review of SHUSH!
Most of the performers were poor, but 2 acts were good. The music was not what I was expecting - it was billed as 'soulful' but it wasn't. It would have been good to have had seating around the room - that would have made it more cosy and comfortable. Friendly ticket-checker. The adjacent bar was nice, with helpful staff.
