Review of Sounds From the Other City 2016
Such a great festival and puts Salford on the map for music. St Philips church was a beautiful venue, and I spent most of my time at the old pint pot - the sways stage. They had brilliant Manchester bands on - my favourite being parade who are a new band.

excellent day out some of the music was excellent some dire but that is as it should be.venues all fine although at my great age and slightly disabled it is clear that you are not expecting anyone over30 which I can live with but still it is annoying that the wristbnd exchange involves stairs without handrails on both sides. the ticket price seems about right and is certainly good value.?The atmosphere overall is friendly and welcoming.I will continue to recommend

I loved the ability to simply walk from one venue to another within the space of a few minutes, encountering the unpredictable. The only dampener was the weather, but this is Salford - we must accept a certain amount of wet. If there is a problem, it's that things occur simultaneously, which, as problems go, is a good one to have. I shall definitely be back in 2017!

Lots of new bands to see, too many to fit into a day. Friendly interesting venues and a wealth of yummy food. Some stand out performances, Martha in an industrial unit and Meilyr Jones in St Philips Church.
