Review of Songs of the World
First half was the most enjoyable. Lovely venue. Organisation could do with improving. What was supposed to be a 20 min interval was more than 1/2 hour because of the queues in the cafe/bar.
A pity some of the scheduling clashes with Hallé concerts at the Bridgewater I.e Das Leid von de Erde.

The new additions to the venue outstanding, staff were very welcome and accommodating my late arrival. Intimate performance combined with outstanding musicianship made a very enjoyable evening

Review of Boulez - Le Marteau sans maître
Halle St Peters is a friendly informal space for classical music with a good acoustic. The programme was an interesting one. The Takemitsu was very seductive. Boulez - Le Marteau sans maître was briskly performed - I found it a surprisingly demanding listen considering. However it didn't help that I was tired after a broken night.
