Review of Croydon\'s Evolution
The debate was very interesting although I would have prefered if it was more about the History of Croydon than the recent plans for development from Westfield Shopping Centre. It felt more like advertising than a History debate. The PA system was terrible, the chairs uncomfortable but the venue was beautiful to see. The Lady from British Museum had very little chance to speak and hers was the part I was most interested in.
Review of Croydon\'s Evolution
An interesting discussion/debate. The presenter's enthusiasm for Croydon came over well but I wish that he had spoken slower as it was difficult to understand what he was saying. The evolution of Croydon was told by five experts from its beginnings to the present and stretching into the future. I enjoyed the evening but there should have been time left at the end for questions from the audience.
Review of Croydon\'s Evolution
Good topic and panel. Interesting subject.
Some minor gripes:
Poor microphones and not enough debate. A bit one sided in favour of development due to the participants (from Westfield, whitgift and council). It needed a realist amongst them as an antidote to gung ho development! But in the whole, very interesting.

Review of Outskirts: Living on the Edge of the Greenbelt
Excellent. What could have been a dry and boring subject was brought to life by the author's research, comprehensive knowledge and witty sense of humour. His informative talk has led me to order his latest book on the subject of the Green Belt. I found his antidotes about his bringing up in New Addington in the 70s interesting.
