Review of Bass Jam The Zombie Apocalypse
Stayed Bolton Whites Hotel right next to event which was really nice room and well priced - queues getting in terrible - and for Halloween expected loads more in fancy dress - didn't feel much like a Halloween event - other reviews are right about he drinks and such that was all quite frustrating but fortunately I had a camel pack I loaded with ice and 2 bottles of water - preparation is key. Music was average early on but Big Narstie and Sigma were decent once it got going

I didn't go to the Bolton one, I went to the Birmingham venue. Overall it was ok, to make the venue better you should have had heaters. As its such an old and fairly large building heaters should have been used especially in the winter times. You may as well have just put the speakers outside and had a road block party.
The whole idea of selling the water without the lid did get on my nerves, I get that its managements plan keeping it "safe" but its still a stupid idea when you sell cans which can also be thrown. How can you dance with and open bottle? What if someone dropped something in my drink while I'm standing in a packed room?
The back room DJ's especially the female DJ (don't know her stage name) brought more vibe than the main room cause the selection was better and the system sounded way better. Not being funny but don't hire the same sound engineer if he/she can't position the speakers or know how many sub's to use in a room of that calibre. I purposely stand at the back to check sound quality in raves and I can say that the sound engineer was only thinking about the front of the stage. Too much bass and treble killed Wiley and Bugzy's voice.
Good rave but production could have been better in terms of sound quality. Also the DJ's play the same songs because they want to drop the newest tech house, bassline or whatever type house they are playing wouldn't have that problem if there was some Rnb, hip hop, grime (more grime) and other genres. Granted the garage in the back room was on point. But you have a room full of girls that are ready to get lit to some Ryry.
That's my honest opinion of the Birmingham venue. Hope you take on board what I have said even if its just a little bit.
