Review of Peaky Blinders, Garrison Gala

Great atmosphere, friendly people, really enjoyable night. A struggle for the disabled and elderly to climb 2 flights of stairs. and no lift available (though a stair lift could be a possible option?)

Review of "Where You Attwood?" Film Screening + Live Q and A

Overall rating: 4.5 Verified review

First of all the timing of this event meant that I was able to travel to it in time even though I came from a distance. Not seen Mark A live before but very familiar with his videos. The film documents his gruelling but fun 31 days on tour in the USA. Can say that there was not a dull moment in the film and it managed to captivate and express the atmosphere of the tour very effectively in my opinion. Watching it as a shared occasion with everyone else in the room was a very empowering
experience....and as Mark said - in the future it will be a piece of history at this important time in humanity. Cheers to everyone that made it happen.

Review of Kamikaze Pro - 2nd Anniversary Show - Professional Wrestling

Overall rating: 4.5 Verified review

As should be clear from the show title, this was a very important show for the company. There were 8 matches on offer with fantastic talent up and down the card. Damien Dunne and Jonny Storm opened the show with a great match which got the crowd going and then Tyler Bate and Dan Moloney, former tag team partners, brutally tore into each other. After the match, the defeated Moloney took revenge on the popular Bate- he even took out Toni Storm who tried to defend the 'Tache Master' (my nickname, not his). The next match was a No DQ match between foes who've had a seven month long feud- Clint Margera and Chris Brookes engaged in a war which saw Margera bloodied, put through a table and stapled! Ultimately, though, Brookes fell short of getting revenge for Margera costing him matches on various occasions after inteference from Nixon Newell backfired. Truly a war. The first half main event was a first: Marty Scurll, esteemed host of Wrestletalk TV, challenged Kamikaze regular El Ligero for SWE's Speed Kings Championship, marking the first time that a belt from another UK promotion had been defended in KPW. As two of the best wrestlers in the country, it's no surprise that Marty and Ligero put on a real clinic.

The second half opened with a women's match between Shanna and Toni Storm, with Nixon Newell returning to referee. This was spectacularly hard-hitting! Great stuff from both women! Next up, Marshall X, the Relentless Division Champion, defended his title against MVK Valkabious. After trying to make sure the belt wasn't on the line, Marshall then proceeded to attempt to psyche out his opponent. This was probably a bad idea as the fired up Valkabious manhandled the man from the West Side of East London. The match ended with MVK executing his finisher, but receiving a belt to the face for his trouble: both he and Marshall were unable to answer the referee's 10 count, resulting in a rarely seen finish. The penultimate match pitted the Tag Team Champions the Hunter Brothers against three young teams, including graduates of the Kamikaze Dojo. Some spectacular multi-man spots led up to a great climatic finish between the Hunters and the YOLO Squad- I look forward to seeing a full blown 2 vs 2 match from those four men. The main event saw Ryan Smile, KPW's self-styled Daddy, take on a man who many UK fans think is the best wrestler in the country, the intense Mark Haskins. Another wrestling clinic saw them outside the ring on several occasions, but Smile stole the victory. The angered Haskins however got revenge by getting his young son to pin Smile after a beatdown on the arrogant All-Day Star! All in all, a great show :)
