Review of AWR - Abandoned Warehouse Rave Digbeth Birmingham

Arrived about midnight after a brief hassle trying to find the venue, shown straight in and up stairs to the dancefloor on the second floor (no second room tonight). Despite the hype it was only half full when we arrived, but we were very impressed with the industrial feel and the haze in the air around the venue. Music was mostly tech house, no big name DJs just local bods, and what disappointed us was there was little variation in what was played- Enrico Sanguilano got an airing and apart from that it was just one annonymous track after another. But there were a few people there really going for it and those that weren't seemed happy enough. Overall I'm glad I've ticked off a new venue, not a bad night, but the sound system and DJs could have offered more I feel.
