FRIDAY // MAIN BAR - CONCRETE SOUL

This Friday Gorilla is going in deep with Manchester's finest selection of DJs all coming together for a FREE Carnival Party.

The bar sees the beginnings of Concrete Soul; an Artist / DJ-curated residency at Gorilla and will run every Friday night with the likes of Kickin' Pigeon, Il Bosco, Randy Marsh & Ruf Dug.

Each week will be programmed and curated by one of four artist residencies. With more than a decade of impeccable, culture defining parties behind them (including Friend's And Family, Red Laser Disco, Wet Play, Detroit Public Radio, Full Beam! and Dancers Wanted); each week should see different moods, sounds and personalities reflected through the guest bookings and resident's tune selection. The aim is to create a free space for people to frequent each week to explore new exciting music of a high quality and cultural value. The night should inspire, educate and entertain in equal measure.

There's another amazing FREE party to begin Carnival weekend! The Rave Cave will be taken over by 2 of Manchesters finest - CHIMPO AND METRODOME!

Bass music legend Chimpo's musical style defies genre boundaries. Both his DJ sets and productions see him fuse grime, drum n bass, dubstep, trap, garage, dancehall and hip hop to create a unique sound that never fails to destroy dancefloors. A seasoned DJ, producer and MC, Chimpo's career has seen him tour the world, find fans in many of his heroes and officially remix legends such as Wu Tang Clan, Zed Bias and Omar.

He will be joined by the revolutionary Metrodome, DJ/musician/producer- APE CULT, Red Laser Records, Hyperdub, Room2 Records, LEVELZ, Estate Recordings, Blah Records.

Exploit & Covert are back again with their epic summer series and this time they're bringing over Circus legend Yousef!
The new decade sees Yousef consolidating his status as an international DJ, Producer, Club Promoter and Music aficionado with ever greater impact. Running one of Europes premier club nights co-exists alongside manning a record label of the same name, whilst his reputation as a DJ grows with increasing stature and a constantly escalating global calendar.
Two decades of experience in the industry means that he's left quite a mark on the industry and his sets take you on a journey through genres, creating the musical soundtracks that pulsate through the clubbers ears.
