Bored of the traditional Santa’s grottos and overcrowded Christmas markets? Then fear not, as London’s grandest Victorian landmark Tower Bridge will provide historic fun for the family this festive season.
Step back in time and celebrate Christmas the Victorian way at London’s Tower Bridge, with an entire historically-themed Christmas event based in the South Tower involving giant Christmas trees, nostalgic decorations, and the largest wooden advent calendar in the country.
Replicating a Victorian wooden toy and measuring an impressive two metres wide and seven metres high, the calendar will be open each day until the 23rd December.
Visiting children are invited to pick candy canes from a tree, with one lucky child authorised to open the advent calendar door where a magical adventure awaits.
As well as candy canes and wonderful memories, children will also take away an adventurer’s certificate as a memento of their special day.
A ‘Letter Writing Station’ is also on-hand for the little ones to write and post a letter to the big-man himself.
This unique event will provide somewhere different for parents to take the children, steeped in enchantment and historical charm it is sure to leave a mark on your festive celebrations.
Open December 1st – 23rd, 9:30-18:00. South Tower under the animation screen, Tower Bridge. Tickets Adult £8, Children 5-15 £3.40, Under 5s Free, & Concessions £5.60.
