The Rum Festival Chester - back this weekend

The CHESTER RUM FESTIVAL ? Back for Year 2

The UK?s first ever travelling Rum Festival first came to Chester back in March 2018 and you guys welcomed us with open arms (and mouths!).

It?s now Year 3 of our tour and The Rum Festival is bigger and better than ever before.

This year, on Saturday 22nd June, we?re taking over Carriage Shed and we?re bringing some new friends with us!

Obviously, we?ll have over 100 rums ? including some you may never have heard of and lots of our old school favourites. We?ll of course have cocktails, yes the boys are back! We?ll definitely have Caribbean Street food and absolutely we?ll have our amazing house Cuban dance band Mojito.

We?ll introduce you Lucy?s new favourite the incredible William George Rum, the amazing One Love Rums, the unusual and exclusive Companero?s, and of course our friends from Old J will of course be bringing plenty of fun to the party.

Lucy Douglas, the founder of the festival says, ?Last year Chester was a big highlight of our Rum Tour. We loved last year, and needed a more adaptable space for 2019 and I can?t wait for you to see it! The growth in the rum market and evolution in the variety of flavours and styles has been phenomenal over the last few years, and I?m so excited that people are starting to appreciate this amazing spirit. I set up the Rum Festival as somewhere fun where they could try new and exciting rums whilst listening to live music, eating great food and being surrounded by good people. I hope you?ll join us again this year, and if you?ve not been to The Chester Rum Festival then why not?!?

So what can you expect?

On arrival, you will be greeted by a Rum?un; handed your Rum Festival glass (a gift for you to take home!) and a brochure, full of information on all the rums you can try, fun facts about each of the suppliers and the suggested garnish to compliment your drink.

Rum can be grouped into categories and that is how you?ll find them at The Rum Festival. Modern, Spiced and Flavoured, Aged and Something Different; but don?t worry if you know nothing about rum there will be a welcoming team there to help you choose.

Drinks vouchers to taste the rums, will be available from a stand in the main entrance. These include a mixer of your choice and fresh garnish. We think the best way is to buy a card of four and then go from there, but you can purchase fewer (or more of course!) if you like. If you're new to rum don't worry, the friendly Rum?uns will recommend a few to get you going or tell you all about their favourites.

Throughout the event there will be live entertainment and dancing ? including soca and salsa; the opportunity to talk to rum industry experts, tasty food to buy and above all lots of fun. At the Chester event, The Rum Festival?s cocktail team will be on hand to mix you some of the tastiest rum cocktails on the planet!

This year we?re also welcoming our favourite Rum brands so they?ll be plenty of samples to be had.

All tickets also include a minimum of 10 free samples.
