Legendary New York musician/producer/mixing engineer Rusty Santos's new band The Present have a limited major city only tour of the UK and Europe this December. With an approach that experimental music should be accessible Rusty has taken this belief and applied it very successfully to his new band The Present. The Present's debut album 'World I See' hauls this ethos over its shoulders as it tramples on musical boundaries and preconceptions, whilst leaving an album that is still capable of relating musically and emotionally to a wide audience. Though the instruments on 'World I See' aren't necessarily new (the basic elements are piano, guitar and drums), guided by intuition the band attempt to make timeless music by using the most minimalist methods in innovative new ways. The result of capturing and developing these sounds is the beautifully elegant yet emotionally powerful sound of The Present.

Rusty is at the forefront in the field of Abstract/Ambient/Experimental music in the USA and demand for his services are high. His talents both as a producer/engineer and musician can be found on Animal Collective (Sung Tongs), Panda Bear (Person Pitch) and Born Ruffians (Red Yellow and Blue) releases on Fat Cat and Warp and his influences can be found in many up and coming bands.

Manchester's premier alternative promoter Wotgodforgot brings The Present to the Retro Bar, Sackville Street, Manchester on 8th December. Don't miss this rare opportunity to see the genius of Rusty Santos at work. Support on the night from Grand Canyon, Charlies Hero and Warm Widow. The last time Warm Widow played for Wotgodforgot the venue was packed and was attended by a fair amount of music press and radio people. Come along and see why - you won't be disappointed.
