Taking influence from DJ EZ's epic 24 hour live stream in aid of Cancer Research, Preston lad Jay Whalley will embark on his own marathon music journey on Thursday 30th March to raise money for mental health charity Mind.

At Glovers in Preston, he'll play from 9pm until 9pm the following day, all with the intention of raising awareness and losing the stigma which is associated with common mental health issues including anxiety and depression.

Jay himself has battled with suicidal thoughts, panic attacks, depersonalization and anxiety, and with statistics showing that suicide is the biggest cause of death in males under 35, it's crucial to be more open. You can read Jay's story here.

The set will be live streamed over on the Skiddle YouTube account, so you can check how Jay's doing and party along at home.

Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. If you'd like to donate to Mind then please visit Jay's Just Giving page.
