Rock Open Heat 3, ChrisCooperBand Make It To The Semi?s We have attended Rock Open since it was at The Old Baths Hall in Scunthorpe, It was always our favourite event. With fond memories for all who attended and performed Since the Baths Hall closed and reopened the popular competition has been moved from venue to venue with Crosby Hanger, Tavern and Bridge Hotel & Beckwood to name some of the venues it has been held at. Image by Imagernation Media Non have quite been the same as The Baths Hall but those nights were pretty hard to beat in our minds. The atmosphere and the venue it was a very popular and looked forward to night out. Heat 3 Consisted of Lock up Laura, Native Braves, ChrisCooperBand,Youthful Two, Hawk of Fury and The Frantics.Last night we attended the 3rd heat of Rock Open to support the Scunthorpe indie folk Band ChrisCooperBand. ChrisCooperBand reached through to the semi finals with their great set and the large crowd that filled the room for their performance. They played a set selected by fans, the vocals were spot on and the instruments accompanying the vocals were without fault. The band have great composition for the material they perform and always put in a lot of effort. You just have to watch the talented drummer Gav, get into the beat to know he loves what he does along with the rest of the band. All members know how to play and in a band that?s as you know an important thing. We predict big things for these guys whether they win rock open or not they are well worthy of recognition. Not only is their sound unique but their lyrics and songs are powerful enough to have people in the moment dancing along and reciting the lyrics. They finished their set with a firm favourite ?Take Me Home?. We spoke to Chris Cooper about the night and here are a few words from the band: ?Thankyou to everyone for coming to support us through our heat to the semi finals of the rock open 2013. Was awesome to see so many turn out to fill the venue, we really appreciate all the love. Thanks to all the other acts we felt it was a tight round very hard to say who would go through as everyone was on top form. Great to see everyone singing along and dancing away, you made us enjoy playing for you even more, the atmosphere was amazing. See you all in the semi?s. - chriscooperband??
