Red Hot Chili Peppers - new single ‘Dani California’ (May 1st - Warner Bros.)

Red Hot Chili Peppers return with ‘Dani California’ on May 1st on Warner Bros. Records. ‘Dani California’ represents the first track to be taken from their eagerly anticipated double-CD album ‘Stadium Arcadium’ that follows on May 8th.

An exciting preview of the eclectic sounds of ‘Stadium Arcadium’, the single continues the story of Dani California that was established on the band’s prior albums ‘By The Way’ and ‘Californication’. As with the rest of the double-album set, ‘Dani California’ was produced by Rick Rubin (Beastie Boys, System Of A Down) in the same house in the Hollywood Hills that the band recorded 1991’s landmark album ‘BloodSugarSexMagik’.

The accompanying video for the track depicts a history of rock ‘n’ roll and was directed by Tony Kaye of ‘American History X’ fame. The video will debut in the U.K. on April 5th on a Channel 4 video exclusive at 11:00 p.m.

Created as double-album with discs entitled ‘Mars’ and ‘Jupiter’, ‘Stadium Arcadium’ will also be available in a limited-edition black box that includes the 28-song, two-CD set, plus a DVD with the ‘Dani California’ video and behind-the-scenes "making of the video" footage; a one-hour band interview; a 28-page booklet; original artwork by the band; and "special space-age discoveries".

‘Stadium Arcadium’ is the ninth album from the Chili Peppers and the first since 2002's ‘By The Way’, which sold more 1.6-million copies in the UK alone. All told, the band has sold more than 50 million albums and enjoyed UK Top 20 success with nine singles.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are set to play a stadium tour this summer in support of their upcoming double album ‘Stadium Arcadium’. The tour represents their first UK shows since 2004’s gargantuan gigs at Hyde Park and also includes a headline slot at T in the Park. Please turn over the details.
