Q) Where and when was your 1st ever gig? How'd it go?

A) My first gig was 28 years ago, now. I know, I don't look old enough, right? RIGHT???? It was a children's party for a 7 year old girl, called Emily. It went well. She's 35 now, and recently came to one of my gigs.

Q) Who/what were your main influences when you first started out as a comedian?

A) Tommy Cooper and I little known guy called Lenny Blease, who used to write for Tommy. Another guy, who's still around and going strong meant so much to me, when I first started, is Micky Zany. Micky is still a great mate of mine.

Q) What has been your biggest achievement to date?

A) I was the very first comedian to perform on the front line of any war in history. I got a service medal, for my time there.

Q) If you weren't a stand up comedian what would you be?

A) A porn star. No doubt in my mind.

Q) What has been your favourite gig to date?

A) There was a gig that we did in Kandahar, in front of 2000 allies. Now there's a gig I'll never forget.

Q) And your worst?

A) When I dragged a crippled woman across the floor, at the opening night of a huge show, in 1999.

Q) Who is your favourite circuit comedian ATM? What new comedians should we watch out for?

A) I love Tom Stade, he's such a great comic, and awesome to hang with. I'm not going to tell you any new comics that I like, coz they might take my work.

Q) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A) Dead.

Q) Do you have anything to promote?

A) At the moment, I'm starring in the only remaining end of the pier show, in the world. It's a pretty big deal, a proper variety show. 6 dancers, 2 singers, an impressionist, a juggler, and me. cromerpier.co.uk
