One of Liverpool’s favourite club nights: mUmU, returns this bank holiday with something really quite special lined up. They guys at mUmU have put a lot of thought into maximising the extra day off work, by throwing a 12 hour no holds barred party on Sunday May 5th at The Yard, then later The Warhouse, Greenland Street, Liverpool.

Starting off at 4pm as a friendly BBQ in the afternoon slot, the Yard party section of the event commences with performances from, amongst others, Aus Music head honcho Will Saul. Aus Music is one of the most consistently impressive labels on the scene, with releases by everyone from Martyn and Joy Orbison, to Cottam, George Fitzgerald, Bicep, Midland and recently Dusky. With a busy festival season lined up, this will be a unique opportunity to see the man himself playing his own take on forward thinking house music, played on a stunning funktion one sound system, whilst chowing down on some top grade barbecue food. Assistance will be ably provided by breakthrough artist Dale Howard, Shelter DJs and Discoteca Poca DJs.

The evening leg of the all day extravaganza sees none other than Cocoon legend and Ricardo Villalobos favourite Onur Özer man the decks, bringing his own flavour of Berlin to the Merseyside city. The Turkish born DJ and producer made waves early in his career in the night life of Istanbul, fighting against the stagnant music scene with his fiercely forward thinking approach. His productions eventually caught the attention of huge labels like Freude Am Tanzen and later Vakant, becoming a leading contributor to the iconic labels output. He was subsequently snapped up in the German minimal tech arena and has since gone from strength to strength, as his recurrent appearances at Cocoon will confirm. Gary Beck will also be returning to curate things in the warehouse venue alongside the ever impressive mUmU residents.

Its clear to see why mUmU have gained the reputation they now hold in Liverpool, and it looks as if they will be exceeding expectations once more with this forthcoming 12 hour rave up.
