This event is the premier event for Platform Music UK, a small local business that has a vision to bring high quality, professional events to the area for people to enjoy at a reasonable cost. These events aren't for charity, they aren't priced for someone to make a fortune, they aren't for any particular venue to showcase what they've got. They're simply for the artists that perform and the audience that attends. A real shortage of quality events has hit rural, smaller areas with the main focus of major promoters and artist trying to book bigger spaces to make more money. Don't get me wrong, if there was a large space available that could be used under the Platform brand I would probably jump at it, but that's not the primary focus.

This premier Platform event is one of 4 types of event under the Platform brand and is focused at supporting local artists. Some of the artists have never been paid for a gig before, some have a very limited performance history. That's where Platform comes in. If gives these young artists the exposure and experience they deserve. It also creates a really cool atmosphere and gives you a good quality event. So many people I know, and I'm sure there re others, travel relatively far and wide for a night out because there's nothing local they deem good enough. I am trying to change that with Platform. All the events will be held at different venues in different towns, and hopefully Platform Music UK will become a very reputable brand that people will follow and trust to throw a good event.

If this is something you feel passionate about and feel you might be interested in participating in then buy a ticket, tell your friends, follow us on social media and visit the website. Although it is a small business at the moment with nothing to back up the credibility, it has the potential to. The tickets aren't expensive for what you get. The artists will be paid well, the venue is happy and there will be a expert sound engineer on hand to make sure what you hear is as good as how the music will make you feel. The more people that turn up doesn't make me any more money, it makes the solo artists more money. So don't do it for me, do it for them as they're the ones who have worked hard and put in the hours to get to the level they're at now and will continue to progress.
