One of London's best loved record shops celebrates its eighth birthday on October 1st with a special shindig at Ewer Street Warehouse, and they've invited some of their best selling artists along for the party.

Leftroom and Heidi's The Jackathon will be providing the musical soundtrack for the evening, and will be bringing along with them quite the posse of artistes including Visionquest, Joy Orbison, Benoit & Sergio (live), Soul Clap, and plenty more.

What is Phonica Records?

Phonica Records has a long history as a hub for electronic musicians and fans – it’s a hive of excitement for vinyl lovers from all around the world.

Opened in 2003, Phonica Records quickly established itself within the electronic music scene, and is considered a breeding ground for talent, and a meeting point for DJs producers, collectors and fans alike. Former staff include Heidi, Hector, Anthea, Will Saul and James Priestley.

And now, to celebrate its eighth anniversary, Phonica comes to Great Suffolk Street Warehouse (aka Ewer Street Warehouse), with three rooms of booming bass, booty-shakin’ and throbbing beats.

The Phonica arch is a hotbed of electronic genius, with UK funky, garage and dubstep eclecticist Joy Orbison, hip-hop-meets-house masters Soul Clap, Phonica Records manager Simon Rigg, and Phonica favourites Soho and The Vangelis.

Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom Records is an electrifying addition to the Great Suffolk Street Warehouse lineup. Joining hard-working, experimental and energetic DJ Matt Tolfrey are Visionquest’s Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves and Lee Curtiss, Detroit DJs whose focus is on creating a unique, deep and emotive sound, US live duo Benoit & Sergio with their pop-tech-house sound; and deep house rising star Sam Russo.

Underground house and bass star Heidi returns to London with The Jackathon, and is joined by Mathias Kaden – a turntablist with impeccable taste in house and techno – Deetron, whose take on Detroit techno is melodic and housey, and purveyors of pure house Waifs & Strays.

This October, Phonica Records brings together a history of electronic music from London to Detroit via Berlin, with the help of some very special guests. Come join the party…
