But it's not just bands from the underground scene that are making their way to this City's night spots because this month Wotgodforgot (along with Oh! Productions and Now Wave) have booked the rather wonderful Gil-Scot Heron to perform at The Opera House. This is a major coup for these young promoters and a giant step to establishing their names with major artist booking agents.

Expect a sell out event for an artist that has risen from humble beginnings, served time in prison, suffered from drug addiction to being one the most respected story telling poets and musician of the modern era.

Also listed by Wotgodforgot for The Ruby Lounge this month are Grails from Portland Oregon who are quite simply giants of the post rock instrumental genre. Bristol's very own Crippled Black Phoenix (side project of Portished and Mogwai band members) bring their brand of melodramitc pop to The Ruby Lounge whilst next month, Faust, the originators of the genre known as 'Kraut Rock' will be showing how it was done in the 70s and how it's still done today.

Other shows will star Scout Niblett, Mount Eerie, Growing, Mi Ami, A Sunny Day in Glasgow, These Are Powers plus a host of the finest local bands. See the event poster for all current dates and expect the weird, the wired but always the wonderful from Wotgodforgot.
