CHASE & STATUS feat. KANO, DILLINJA & LEMON D, SCRATCH PERVERTS, BENGA, NICKY BLACKMARKET, COMMIX, BROOKES BROTHERS, CYANTIFIC

After originally starting life in the Northern Clubbing Mecca of Manchester, Metropolis has worked and partied its way through the ranks to become the UKs biggest Drum n Bass brand, and has diversified its original image and vibe to encompass all aspects of the music scene. With guests along the way including huge legends such as Groove Armada, Dizzee Rascal and Soulwax, theres no doubting this brand has reached infamous heights.

Now also a fixture on the international party scene, taking in legendary party hotspots throughout Spain, USA, Australia, Holland and of course, Ibiza, Metropolis is fast becoming the name on everyones lips in Drum n Bass, Dubstep, Hip Hop, Breaks and Electro.

After an incredible NYE party which saw the likes of Erol Alkan, Marky, Plump DJs, Hype, Paul Woolford and Shy FX perform for 2500 guests, and to celebrate the launch of the brand new website in Jan 09, Metropolis brings you the first party of the 2009 at Leeds Stylus, and this is going to be one unmissable event.

Dillinja & Lemon D

First up they have two of the most prolific Drum n Bass producers around, the mighty Dillinja, along with Lemon D. These guys not only set up Valve Recordings, they also designed and built the Valve Sound System, the only sound system specially created to play Drum n Bass, and holding its own world record as the loudest sound system in the world! With releases between them spanning over 15 years and endless parties theres no doubt these are the some of the most important figures in Drum and Bass today.

Chase & Status Feat. Kano

Headlining this massive event are Chase and Status who have smashed through the ranks over the last year to become one of the most talked about duos of their genre. Their own releases have made some serious headway in the UK dance chart including 3 number ones and with the recent release of their debut album, things are only set to get bigger and crazier for these two. Joining them for a special appearance needing no introduction is Kano. Following huge chart success including the single Ps and Qs along with endless tours. appearances, and 4 MOBO nominations, Kano is getting back to his roots in 2008/9 and taking his sound back to his original Grime sound.

Scratch Perverts

Next up are the Scratch Perverts, after endless awards including two World DMC Team titles, this progressive DJ collective just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Benga

Stopping by for his first ever appearance on the Valve is arguably Dubsteps biggest act Benga, one of the original producers from this still relatively new music scene and one part of the label, Big Apple Records, is an important name in both Dubstep and the newer Grime sounds, and after incredible and much anticipated releases hes become a name to be reckoned with.

Nicky Blackmarket

One of the original pioneers of Drum and Bass, Nicky holds the standard that all other DJs aim for. His genuine love for the scene means his energy is consistently and effortlessly on form, and after a lengthy career that has seen him play at every big party alongside every big DnB DJ out there, hes truly reached legendary status.

Commix

Also joining this incredible line up will be Drum n Bass duo, Commix, who have already gained a following including huge DJs such as Fabio, Grooverider and London Elektricity, Fabric and Herbal residents and massively successful producers Brookes Brothers, who have been described as one of the most exciting acts to develop in recent years have taken the scene by storm, and Cyantific, two producers that kick out some serious heat in the studio and whos DJ sets are famed to be something pretty special

You are in for one serious beatdown theres no doubt these acts are going to raise the roof off the place, and 2009 is looking set to be one hell of a year for the mighty Metropolis.
