– Hardcore Nation style!

The Old Skool: 1990 – 1992 (CD3)

The early 90’s were awash with the most exciting new sounds in the world, driven by the huge ‘rave’ scene that had swept the country in the late 80’s as a rebellion against trends in popular music, nightclub culture, and commercial radio and lead by party organizations such as Fantazia, Helterskelter & Raindance. The word "rave" caught on in the UK to describe common semi-spontaneous weekend parties at various locations outside the M25 Orbital motorway. It was this that gave the band Orbital their name and spawned other huge artists such as The Prodigy, Altern-8, SL2, Baby D & more. DJ’s & producers were furiously working in their bedroom studios making these totally classic anthems. So here we have handpicked the defining moments of early rave for you all…

Happy Hardcore: 1993 - 1999 (CD2)

Compiled & mixed especially by hardcore legend Stu Allan !

Between 1993 and 1994 the rave scene fragmented and forked off into two distinct styles, Jungle (Drum and Bass) and 4-beat (Happy Hardcore). And despite the Government introducing the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 the scene was still massive and the whole attitude to making the music was not too dissimilar to the punk ethic of the late 70s. You didn’t need a million pound studio that cost the earth to hire. It was all about the attitude and feeling that went into each track. With DJs like Slipmatt, DJ Force & Styles, Vibes & Wishdokta, Hixxy, Brisk, Clarkee, etc quickly establishing themselves as leading figures and DJ Seduction landing 2 Top 40 hits with “Hardcore Heaven” & “Come On”. The tempo was increasing too, 130bpm was fine back in 91 but a year later a track had to be around 150bpm. A year later, more again - and so it went on!

Hardcore: 2000 – Present Day! (CD1)

Around 1999 various UK rave culture publications started announcing the largely mistaken "death" of Hardcore (too spicy for ya?! pah!) but it had instead just gone back to its underground roots. The last four years has seen total renaissance in the hardcore scene with hardcore becoming by far the most popular hard & fast dance music across the nation. Driven by the productions and DJing of Darren Styles & Hixxy, but equally by the creativity and enthusiasm of many of Hardcore’s leading DJs: Breeze, Scott Brown, Stu Allan, DJ Seduction, Sy & Unknown, Dougal, Gammer, Brisk & Ham & the events such as Hardcore Till I Die, Vibealite, Uproar, Slammin music created is almost unequalled. Hardcore now rules. Included in this set of current Anthems are remixes of classic tracks including a brand new mix of CRW “I Feel Love” Hardcore happily mixes big crossover tracks as well as its own gems. No other dance music has the power & constant hands in the air enjoyment, and this is what this CD is. It’s modern hardcore at its best.

Put simply: Hardcore Will Never Die!
