Erol Alkan in line for Deaf Institute 2017 season opener
The Phantasy Records head honcho comes to the Manchester venue on Friday 17th February.

The Deaf Institute will welcome a legendary figure in the world of electronic music for their 2017 season opener. On Friday 17th February Erol Alkan will drop by the Manchester venue to deliver a DJ set rammed with polished productions.
Alkan has enjoyed a remarkable 2016 where his consistent shapeshifting has seen him demonstrate his genius across multiple disciplines throughout the year.
As one half of Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve he dropped debut album The Soft Bounce in July, which earned the duo widespread acclaim, while the likes of Daniel Avery and Ghost Culture both released via Alkan's Phantasy label this year.
Back in February the DJ began a new style of Boiler Room series, broadcasting with no visuals to put the focus back on the music. The sessions see Alkan at his best, carving through original tracks, Phantasy releases and remixes of New Order, Underworld and more.
Local selector Annabel Fraser also features, tapping into her NTS know-how for a hometown support slot.
