We are partnering with Portsmouth City Council to offer you a fantastic evening in one of the largest venues in the city: the Esther Room. It is home to the museum's romance collection and was inspired by original pieces - some of the items are over 450 years old. These are not normally displayed to the public. IT IS THE PERFECT ROMANTIC SETTING and inspired by history.

The room was named after Esther, a young Jewish Queen who was loved by a king of Persia. Her story is depicted in the beautifully carved fire surround, which is the main feature of the room and made between 1616 & 1640 (originally at Chilham Castle in Kent).

The Esther Room is on the first floor of the City Museum - its architecture is reminiscent of a French chateau. Built in red brick with tall towers and chimneys, it was originally part of the Victoria barrack and home to Wrens during the Second World War, It was eventually opened as a museum and art gallery in 1972.

We will therefore be offering our guests a unique experience as well as a fun and enjoyable evening with other like minded single people. The venue is outstanding and will be decorated with a romantic theme and soft lighting whilst light music is played in the background.

The price is inclusive of champagne and soft drinks throughout the evening, as well as a selection of savoury and sweet canapes. We will have exclusive use of the venue and a complimentary tour of the museum at night will also be available should the guests wish to look around and discover what's on offer.
