A soprano from Chester will be giving a concert in the city to raise funds for further study. Cally Youdell will perform at Wesley Methodist Centre on Wednesday, August 24 to raise cash to study for a Masters degree at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Cally, a pupil at the former St Thomas of Canterbury Primary School, trained at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, finishing last year with a first class degree. She has already completed a preparatory master course in The Hague, studying with Michael Chance and Rosemary Joshua. Her ambition is to become a baroque opera singer. The concert in Chester will feature Cally and accompanist Simon Passmore with music by Purcell, Handel, Mozart and more. Tickets are £10 for early bird or £15 on the day. Children 12 and under go free.
